Nedbank opens agency in Masianokeng

MASERU-NEDBANK Lesotho officially opened an agency at the Lifestyle Centre in Masianokeng last Thursday.
The agency will provide all banking services like opening new accounts, issuing cards and processing loans.

Nedbank said this is meant to increase its footprint and provide services to clients at their convenience.
Speaking at the event on behalf of Lesego Holdings, caretakers of the Masianokeng Lifestyle Centre, ’Matokelo Seturumane said Nedbank has a special place in the hearts of Lesego’s shareholders.

Seturumane said this is because Nedbank is the only bank that heeded their call and made it possible for Basotho to own a shopping complex.
“We had a dream for a long time to have a shopping centre, where people can drink and eat and access necessary services,” Seturumane said.
“The dream would have remained just a dream had it not been because of Nedbank,” she said.

“They invested in us and assisted us to accomplish our dream.”
Seturumane said the bank further proved their commitment to assisting locals achieve their dreams by having a presence at the centre and offering world-class financial services.

She also applauded Nedbank for deciding to have their presence at the centre as well.
“We hope to minimise congestion in town, offer Basotho a new shopping experience through the creation of empowering places like this one,” she said.

She said she hoped Nedbank’s support will not end with the Masianokeng Lifestyle Centre but rather be a beginning of a long journey ahead.
Nkau Matete, Nedbank’s Managing Director, said it is pleasing to see Basotho collaborating to engage in big projects like this.
“The building is Lesego’s and I know that this project will succeed,” Matete said.

“We are proud to have made this dream possible for Basotho,” he said.
“Our only plea is for Basotho to support this facility so that many more can be availed.”

Matete said the Masianokeng Lifestyle Centre is only the beginning and as a bank they look forward to its phase two soon.
“Let us work together as Basotho to protect this place, let it be our pride,” Matete said.
