5 LRA bosses suspended

MASERU – Five senior managers at the Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) were suspended yesterday for six weeks for alleged corruption, thepost can reveal. Four of the officials are division managers while the other is a mid-ranking manager.
The suspension follows allegations made by the LRA Staff Union (LERASU) to the board last month.

The union first made the allegations last year but the board’s tenure ended before it could discuss the matter.
Those suspended are Chief Financial Officer Mangangole Tsikinyane and Chief Planning and Modernisation Officer Idia Penane and Chief Legal and Policy Officer Dr Seth Macheli.

Also suspended are Moutloatsi Dichaba who is the Head Litigation and Chief Legal and Policy Officer who is also serving as the Board secretary and Advocate Realeboha Mathaba, the Commissioner Enforcement.

Commissioner General Thabo Khasipe could not be reached for comment last night. Public Relations Manager Pheello Mphana was also not available.
thepost has however seen a memo announcing the suspensions. In the memo Khasipe said he has launched forensic investigations.
