Chakela to expose secrets

MASERU – FAMO gangster Mosotho Chakela is threatening to reveal damaging secrets about First Lady ‘Maesaiah Thabane and Police Minister ‘Mampho Mokhele.
Chakela, whose real name is Rethabile Mokete, is a staunch All Basotho Convention (ABC) supporter. He also claims to have a close relationship with Prime Minister Thomas Thabane.
A furious Chakela made the threats on a local radio station yesterday.

He however did not reveal the source of his fight with the First Lady and the police minister.
“I want to reprimand ‘Mampho Mokhele. I want to seriously reprimand the First Lady,” Chakela said.
He also said he wants to “deal” with one police officer at the Police Headquarters. He said he wants to fight back because he has been “undermined for too long”.
“I want to tell one woman why she is a minister. Why are you sitting there as the minister?” he said.
He said those who think he could form the ABC and leave it are mistaken. Chakela said those who are bent on destabilising the party are plotting to kill him.
“There is only one person who is causing all these troubles in the ABC and they are not many,” Chakela said without giving further details.

He said the police officer is using state resources to attack him. He said if the officer wants a fight he should confront him and not hide and attack him under the cover of the police.
“I have got evidence to support my arguments. I am not talking fairy tales,” Chakela said.
“If I could have enough time I could share a lot with you, and Basotho should know why people are chasing me.”

Last night thepost made several attempts to get Chakela to explain his allegations, as well as reveal why he is fighting the First Lady and the police minister but he said he was unable to talk.
He said he could need more time to explain his allegations.
“When you ask me to present the evidence it will not just be verbal but I will provide something tangible,” Chakela said.
Chakela is the leader of Terene, a famo gang, alleged to be at the centre of famo gang wars that have left more than 100 people dead in the past decade.
