The brilliant student

MASERU – ‘MUSO Lancelot ‘Kamanga’ Koelane was born on the 6th of October, 1988 at Queen Elizabeth II hospital, Maseru.
He is the first born of the three children of Pitso Frank Koelane and ‘Mammuso Florence Koelane of Maqalika, Khubetsoana, in Berea district of Lesotho.

He started his primary education at Leseli Community Centre, Khubetsoana, in 1995 and passed with a first class. His secondary education was at NUL International School (NULIS). He then did his undergraduate degree at the National University of Lesotho where he got his BA in Economics. He then joined the civil service in 2016, serving at the Ministry of Home Affairs as an officer in charge of the registration of birth certificates for senior citizens and the aged until his untimely passing.
Ever the bright student, ‘Muso received many honours in his years at school. These include the coveted Junior Leadership Award which he received at the Outward Bound Centre in Thaba-Patšoa, Leribe district of Lesotho in 2001.

This was followed by the Checkpoint Cambridge International Examinations in 2003 where he scored high on the scale used to rate students’ competency levels in English, Maths, Science. There were a further four accolades at NULIS in 2005.
His parents did their utmost to enable him to achieve his dreams. And he did not disappoint, excelling in every endeavour. He leaves behind his mom and dad and his sister.
