AD youth killed in Mokhotlong

MASERU – An Alliance of Democrats (AD) youth was killed on Saturday night during a quarrel at a party concert in Mokhotlong.
Police spokesman Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli confirmed the incident. He said an investigation has been opened but no arrests have been made.
AD spokesman Thuso Litjobo said the incident has left them shocked.

Litjobo said the fight started when the young man wanted to use a door designated for exits to enter the hall.
He said there was a quarrel between him and another young man who was guarding the door, leading to a fight.
It is not clear whether the young man was shot or stabbed.Litjobo said the man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries where he later died.
He said the AD national executive committee will release a statement soon.

“Our office has given the police a chance to do their job so whenever they are done the office will see what to do so that history does not repeat itself,” Litjobo said.
He said he was sure that the fight had nothing to do with politics within the party.
