Minister resigns

MASERU – The Minister of Forestry and Land Reclamation ‘Mamotsie Motsie has resigned from the Cabinet from today, Government Secretary has said in a statement.
And the Prime Minister has accepted her resignation.
The statement said Motsie resigned for health reasons.

His Majesty King Letsie III has already been informed about Motsie’s resignation.
The statement further says that the Minister of Trade and Industry Tefo Mapesela will act in the vacancy until a new substantive appointment is made.

It said Motsie would remain as a backbench member of Senate to which she was appointed at the formation of the current coalition government in June 2017.
She served as Minister for Tourism, Environment and Culture on her ministerial maiden tour of duty, until she was rotated to the post she is leaving.
