Bantu, LDF rekindle rivalry

Bantu, LDF rekindle rivalry

Maseru – Econet Premier League log leaders Bantu will rekindle their rivalry with Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) on Saturday at the Maputsoe DiFA ground.

The match will be part of a double header in Maputsoe with Sundawana and Kick4Life set to kick off the action at 1pm.

The main attraction undoubtedly, however, will be Bantu who have been in scintillating form since the beginning of the season.

Impressively, ‘A Matšo Matebele’ have won all seven games they have played in all competitions this season.

On Sunday, Bantu increased their winning streak in the league to five games with a 1-0 win over Sky Battalion secured by Khotso Molelengoane’s goal. James Madidilane’s on-fire charges also tasted Independence Cup glory two weekends ago at Setsoto Stadium.

Sohle-Sohle also go into the game in high spirits after collecting three points against Sundawana on Sunday, a victory which saw them climb to fourth position on the log with 10 points.

However, ‘A Matšo Matebele’ are enjoying a dream start to the campaign and it does not seem they are in the mood to drop points. Peter Moloisane, Lindokuhle Phungulwa as well as new signing Tsietsi Motšeare have been outstanding for the Mafeteng giants as they look to defend their league title.

Another intriguing tie this weekend will see Lioli lock horns with rivals Linare on Sunday. ‘Tse Nala’ are looking to keep the pressure on Bantu who lead them by two points. Linare, on the other hand, suffered a setback this week when the Premier League Management Committee deducted three points from the 10 they had collected as punishment for late registration.

Lioli played for the first time at their newly renovated ground last week and recorded a 3-1 victory against Liphakoe. It was also the first game for the Teyateyaneng giants after parting ways with Halemakale Mahlaha as coach last week.

Elsewhere Matlama will be looking to build on their first win of the season, on the heels of an impressive 1-0 victory over Lesotho Correctional Service secured by Motebang Sera’s goal when they travel to face newly-promoted Sefotha-fotha on Sunday
