Basketball clubs chase glory in Swaziland

Maseru – Lesotho’s basketball clubs are in Swaziland this weekend looking to claim regional glory at the annual Swaziland International Invitational Basketball Tournament (SIIBT).
Lesotho will be represented by National Basketball League (NBL) giants Bokamoso and KTA All-Stars.
The clubs leave today for the tournament that will be played on Saturday and Sunday in Mbabane.
Bokamoso will be competing in both the men’s and women’s competitions while KTA are only sending their men’s team.
Bokamoso will be making their competitive debut at the regional showpiece.

Their invitation comes after the club won their first national crown this year to put the icing on a brilliant season. Bokamoso won 32 of their 35 games in all NBL competitions and completed a historic haul of three trophies.
Bokamoso’s men’s team has been pitted in Group B of the SIIBT against Imbumbe from Swaziland, Petromoc from Mozambique, Harare City Hornets from Zimbabwe and Trojans from South Africa.

The ladies team is also in Group B of the women’s competition against Amigas Do Basquete from Mozambique, Lynx Ball Queens from Zimbabwe and Phoenix Flames from South Africa. KTA All-Stars, who were Lesotho’s champions in 2016, are in Group A against Jozi Nuggets from South Africa, Hard Steels from Swaziland, Hustlers from Zimbabwe, FADM from Mozambique and Zambia’s Munali Suns.
