Events company to launch Sky Cycling League

MASERU – Sky Gate Tours and Adventures will this Saturday launch its first-ever Sky Cycling League at Roma Trading Post.
The Sky Cycling League is a competitive monthly cycling series consisting of two disciplines which are pump track and cross country cycling.
Riders will gain points towards a championship title to be awarded at the end of each season.

According to Sky Events’ press release, riders of any age and gender are eligible to compete for prize money and points with the final round of action set to be hosted in September 2019 during the 9th edition of the Lesotho Sky Event.

The ambitious goal of the league is to take cycling in the country to the next level by identifying young talent from Lesotho and offering real opportunities in sport and tourism.
The statement says Sky Gate Tours and Adventures’ mission is to create opportunities through sport, community development through promotion of active lifestyle and encourage youth engagement through participation.

The league will have four categories: kids between five and nine years for both boys and girls, boys and girls between 10 and 15 years, boys and girls aged 16 and above and a category for Lesotho club riders.

“For now and in 2019 the Sky Cycling League will be hosted at Roma Trading Post,” the press release.
“As the league grows it will be hosted in different destinations and districts of Lesotho. All league events are run professionally, from route design, to timing and results, EMT services, awards and sponsor recognition. Our vision is to identify, train and support the next global cycling superstar from a community in Lesotho.”
