FIFA boss to visit Lesotho

MASERU – The Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) will host FIFA president Gianni Infantino next week Tuesday in what will be his first-ever visit to Lesotho.
Infantino’s stopover was announced on Wednesday by LEFA which said the visit is a sign of “cordial relations between Lesotho’s football governing body and the global sporting fraternity.”
The association did not disclose the purpose of Infantino’s visit.

Infantino was elected FIFA president during FIFA’s Extraordinary Congress in February 2016 and was re-elected in June this year.
The last time a FIFA president visited Lesotho was in April 2002 when Sepp Blatter toured the country.

“The Lesotho Football Association is proud to announce that FIFA President Gianni Infantino will visit Lesotho on Tuesday 26th, November 2019,” LEFA said in a statement.
“This will be the first time that Mr Infantino has visited the Mountain Kingdom since his election as the FIFA president. This visit is a sign of the cordial relations that exist between the Lesotho Football Association and the global sporting fraternity, particularly with FIFA as the global football authority,” LEFA’s said.
