Limkokwing lose two key players

MASERU-Limkokwing University will be without the two most experienced members of their squad when the second round of National Basketball League (NBL) kicks off this weekend.
Seoehla ‘Mefane and Thabang Sebusi have been with the university club for a decade and were amongst the team’s founding members in 2009 but both have left for greener pastures with ‘Mefane joining Tornado Basketball Club while Sebusi has moved to Lichocha Shooting Rifles (LSR).

The duo’s departure marks the end of an era and LUCT coach Thabiso Sebusi admitted his side will struggle to replace ‘Mefane and Sebusi’s leadership and production.
“To be honest with you their absence is going to affect the team big time, but I believe it is about time they leave so that they get a challenge somewhere else because since day one the team has been relying on them to carry it,” he said.

LUCT are not doing particularly well in the NBL and the absence of their two most experienced players is a blow.
“We don’t exactly have experienced players to replace them, but we are working on getting new signings; hopefully when the second round starts we will be playing with new players even though we cannot disclose names at the moment,” Sebusi said.

“We are ready for the restart of the season but we are going to have a serious problem, we are going to slightly delay our start to the second round of the season because schools are still closed now.”
