Liphakoe lead Soccer Spectacular race

MASERU – Liphakoe lead the 2019 Econet Soccer Spectacular voting with 634 votes. The voting lines were opened last week and will be closed towards the end of August.
Only four of the Econet Premier League’s 14 teams will be voted into the preseason showpiece.
The semi-final round of the second annual Econet Soccer Spectacular is expected to place on August 24 with the finals held the following week of August 31.
All the games will be played at Setsoto Stadium.

So far, voting has not been as busy as expected and fans are yet to pick up their pace of voting.
Econet Telecommunications Lesotho spokesperson Puleng Litabe said voting is following the same pattern as last year when fans and clubs didn’t vote much at the beginning of the process and only voted in numbers towards the closing of voting lines.
Litabe said organisers are expecting the same again this year.
Only three clubs are in triple digits. The other two apart from Liphakoe are Bantu with 611 votes and Matlama on 137. Linare are fourth with 77 votes.

All 14 Econet Premier league teams qualify for voting but only four with the most votes will compete for the cash jackpot of M100 000. This year Econet has laid down M200 000 towards the off-season showpiece.
The company is expecting to get the money back from gate-takings and any extra cash from gate-takings will be distributed equally to all 14 league clubs.
This year’s runners up will get M50 000 while the two semi-final losers will share the remaining M50 000 equally.
Every team has its own voting code which fans must send to 65250 and each SMS costs M1. The clubs also have a merchant code for bulk votes. The tickets prices will also differ. M30 tickets will come with M5 Econet airtime while M50 tickets will come with M10 airtime.
