New kit for Likuena

New kit for Likuena

MASERU – Lesotho’s new national team jersey is finally here and is already selling.
Yesterday, the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) announced a three-year deal with apparel giants Umbro to supply Likuena with kit until 2022.
In addition to three strips – home, away and an alternate – Umbro has provided the national side with other essentials including two warm-up kits, travel bags and tracksuits.

The Umbro agreement replaces Adidas as Likuena’s kit supplier.
Speaking at yesterday’s unveiling at Bambatha Tšita Sports Arena, LEFA president, Advocate Salemane Phafane ,expressed delight at finally launching the deal.
He urged the nation to buy Likeuna’s new replicas and support the national team.

About 2 500 replica jerseys are already available for sale from M550, Phafane said. At the time of writing 20 replicas had been sold.
Likuena’s home kit is predominantly white with a pair of green and blue horizontal strips across the front of the jersey.
The design is similar for the away and alternate kits. The away jersey is green with blue and white strips while the third kit is blue with green and white strips. The two goalkeeper kits, meanwhile, are red and green respectively while the warm-up jerseys come in blue and white variations.
“We signed a three-year deal with Umbro as the kit sponsor (for Likuena); we agreed (the deal) a few months ago and we could have announced then but we decided to wait until today,” Phafane said.

“I am not going to talk about other brands; I only want to talk about the one we are in partnership with. We have to respect Umbro as a brand,” he added.
“We have 2 500 replicas on sale at the moment and, according to our estimations, they should be sold out in six months and then we will order another 2 500 replicas (from Umbro). From now on we wear Umbro only. We don’t want to see other brands but Umbro.”
Meanwhile, Lesotho’s Under-17 team, Bahlabani, have been drawn against Angola, Mozambique and Comoros in the eight-team 2019 COSAFA Under-17 Championship set to kick-off on October 11 in Malawi.
