Tlokoeng shine at football tournament

MASERU – Nthane Brothers hosted a successful football tournament last weekend in Mapholaneng, Mokhotlong.
The Easter tournament was the company’s way of giving back to the community and contributing to the improvement in the standard of living of the locals.
The tournament was supported to the tune of M75 000 by Nthane Brothers which all went to the participating teams.
The first prize of M30 000 went to the winners Powerline Football Club while Tlokoeng received M20 000 for coming second. The third and fourth teams received M15 000 and M10 000 respectively.

Despite coming second, Tlokoeng were the biggest winners of the tournament as far as individual awards were concerned.
Khotsofalang Selia was selected as the Player of the Tournament and Goalkeeper of the Tournament while Paballo Tšoeu finished as the tournament’s top scorer.
At the end of the tournament, the elderly and orphanaged children received gifts in the form of blankets after the awards ceremony for the teams. The criterion for selection used was from various Community Councils which issued out lists of needy elders and children they believed deserved to be helped.

It is the Nthane Brothers’ view that the tournament was a success and it further intends to do more for the villagers of Mokhotlong.
Among those present at the tournament were Principal Chief Tjantjello Sekonyela, Member of Parliament of Malingoaneng Honourable Sehloho Monathi and SHNB JV management.
The company said it is intending to further strengthen its relationship with the Mokhotlong community and it promised to organise other sustainable development projects in the area.
