Wounded Bantu take on Likhopo

Wounded Bantu take on Likhopo

MASERU – The Econet Premier League returns this weekend after an FIFA international break which saw teams enjoy a two-week break.
However, with less than two months to go until the end of the season, teams will have no chance to ease themselves back into action because there is plenty at stake this weekend.

At the top of the list is the battle for the Econet Premier League title between Bantu, Lioli and Matlama.
All three clubs will be in action on Monday because teams that had multiple players in the national team have been given two added days of rest.
On paper champions Bantu and Lioli have the easier tasks. ‘A Matšo Matebele’, who lead the standings with 36 points, take on second from bottom Likhopo at the Maputsoe DiFA Ground while Lioli face last-placed Sky Battalion at the Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) Ground.

Matlama have a tougher task when they travel to eighth-placed Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) at the Police Training College (PTC).
Both Matlama and Lioli, however, are hot on the heels of Bantu although the leaders have played two games less than ‘Tse Putsoa’ and one less than Lioli.

In the other game on Monday, Kick4Life are away at Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) in a battle for fourth place.
Leslie Notši’s side currently hold that spot but a win for LDF would see them move to within two points of Kick4Life, with a game in hand.

Weekend fixtures:
Saturday (15:00)
Liphakoe vs. Sefotha-fotha (Quthing)
Linare vs. LCS (Maputsoe DiFA Ground)
Monday (15:00)
Bantu vs. Likhopo (Maputsoe DiFA Ground)
LMPS vs. Matlama (PTC)
Sky Battalion vs. Lioli (LCS)
LDF vs. Kick4Life (Ha Ratjomose)
