MASERU – ECONET Telecom Lesotho (ETL) officially launched its Ecocash Agents Campaign yesterday.
The aim of this campaign is to enhance financial services across the country.
Sasai Econet Financial Services General Manager Moeketsi Mafereka said their agents will be a backbone of this campaign ensuring that every Mosotho has access to financial services.
“We believe in empowering our communities,” Mafereka said, adding that this initiative is a step towards financial inclusion for all.
Khahliso Sello from the Econet said, “With Ecocash, you can send money, pay bills, and conduct transactions from the palm of your hand”.
Sello said this is about convenience and accessibility.
“We are bringing banking to your doorstep.”
Puleng ‘Mathabo Tatolo also from the Econet said they prioritize the safety of their customers.
Every transaction is protected with advanced security features, ensuring peace of mind.
The speakers collectively underscored Econet’s commitment to fostering financial inclusion in Lesotho.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas, providing essential services to underserved communities.
As the campaign unfolds, Econet Lesotho is poised to transform the landscape of mobile financial services, making a meaningful impact on the lives of many Basotho.
Tatolo said Econet is currently working on advancing their network systems.
Improving network systems will also improve the way consumers use Econet services.
Econet revealed that the campaign is worth M514 000 and it is set to operate for four months.
Tau Tlali
